Objective:
The students will understand the basic functions and circulation
procedures used in the School Library Media Centre and how to access
available online resources.
Opening:
Mini-Lesson:
Using a model of a check out counter, the students will understand the purpose for circulation procedures.
Work Period:
1. Discuss why the students use the library media centre.
2. Have the students form groups.
3. Discuss the procedures for borrowing books.
4. Have the students select books and check them out.
Closing:
Share Outs:
After the students have discussed how to select resources, have them
discuss how they will check out the books and use online resources.
This sharing will allow the students to explain and demonstrate
their understanding and comprehension of the circulation procedures

The question will be asked “Why do you believe we have rules for borrowing books? (Discussion)
An additional question “How do you know when you have relevant and appropriate information?”
