NYLearns.org Partners with Focus Schools in Buffalo
The University at Buffalo’s Center for Applied Technologies in Education (CATE) has partnered with the Buffalo Public Schools to provide training on the web-based application NYLearns.org. NYLearns.org is a standards-based, educational website that offers resources to enhance teaching and learning.

Twenty schools, designated as Superintendent’s Focus Schools, will participate in the project. Approximately 1,200 educators will receive two days of training over the next few months. The primary goal of the project is to use technology as a vehicle to help improve student achievement. Teachers at these schools were assigned a laptop and will receive instruction on the use and implementation of NYLearns.org and its integration into the curriculum set forth by the State of New York.

Many Buffalo teachers have received limited training on NYLearns.org in the past. However, several enhancements were recently made to NYLearns.org to improve functionality and usability, making the new training sessions timely and relevant.
